All animals have the same parts, don't they?

Wooah.

Does anyone else agree that this is a very provocative advert? In whatever sense of the message being sent across. The woman in the picture has marked lines labelled as meat parts.

I had several emotional reactions to the image. We’ll we could dive right into, ‘women in the media’ and we could also talk about ‘animal rights’. These are serious issues our society is dealing with in the present.  But there are also blurred lines in terms of the true meaning of this advert.

Many people would argue that the reason violence is increasing towards women is because of their constant objectification in the media. And also some argue that animals reared for meat are mistreated because we value human life as being superior to other forms of life.

If we view women as merely meat, are we as likely to mistreat them the way we mistreat the animals that are the meat we eat?
