The video starts with a women opening her
eyes widely, trying to break a new world record of not blinking for the longest
hour. It’s really hilarious that she can keep her eyes widely open even when
she wash her face, sneeze or hit by a football in the face, but when it comes
to eating chocolate, she instantly closed her eyes and enjoy that chocolate so
much. The contrast in her behavior is interesting, and effectively shows that
she can’t help closing her eyes to enjoy its taste just because the chocolate
is so yummy! I really can see the idea of the merchant wants to convey here.
However, what I did not like about the
commercial is that it’s only functional, but not attractive. I know that it’s
so funny when she tries her best to keep her eyes open, but it’s frightening!!!
What I expect is something more romantic, I love the Dove’s commercial which
depicts chocolate as flowing brown waterfall. Moreover, if I were the customer,
I would like to see more about its “objective parts”, such as its color and
packages. I know that people’s taste of chocolate varies, so the woman’s
appreciation to the chocolate does not necessarily applies to me.
