New 1D fragrance

When my friends and I heard about the new One Direction fragrance we were admittedly skeptical. Their career is in music, not creating scents for young adolescent girls across the globe. Right? I haven't actually smelled the perfume myself honestly, but after watching the beautifully shot commercial, any One Direction fan would be out of their mind not to buy it.

This short video has everything an already converted fan would want, but hardly anything would convince someone outside their known demographic to make the $60 purchase. Advertising to a mass culture doesn't seem to be their aim however. Instead, it's to persuade the 'directioners' to care about this product because the boys are associated with it. Perfume is a bit pricier than their other merch (planners and notebooks run about $5) so it's no surprise that they made their own large production commercial. For a casual consumer in the market for a new fragrance, I'm sure the commercial would draw them in with attractive boys and beautiful scenery. However there's not much to actually sell the product other than a few rowdy boys making eyes at the camera.

As a One Direction fan, I'm just upset that Louis didn't get more camera time. As a college student I sadly had to pass on the probably amazing product.
