I Just Want To Listen To Music

As one of the 125 million users of Pandora, I often listen to my Michael Buble radio station while I do homework. Of course, I am very rudely interrupted and bombarded by the site's ads. In the left margin of the web site, advertisements for JustFab.Com are blinking at me. Thankfully, I can minimize the tab and keep listening.

Soon, my crooners are interrupted by audio-only advertisements. A thirty-second commercial depicting how Under Armor makes athletes better stops the music I want to hear.

Out of curiosity, I looked on Pandora's website to peek at their advertisement industry. Pandora asks the advertisers about their objectives. On Pandora's website, there is a video. That video advertises for advertisers. It tells people trying to sell things because Pandora is everywhere. This company tells advertisers that listeners of Pandora make a connection with a "brand on an emotional level" when they see advertisements next to their music. It finds consumers for the advertised products by their age, location, and gender. The company claims to provide "a marketer's dream".

What else is being monitored on my computer so that advertisers can target to me? Or you?
