NYC Changes the Legal Smoking Age to 21.

If you were like many of the New York City teenagers, turning 18 is a symbol of rebellious maturity. Not only do you have the option of voting, but you also have the option to buy and use cigarettes. Unfortunately, these new found adults can no longer feel the freedom to buy cigarettes. Recently in the last month the next city decided to change the legal age to buy cigarettes 21 instead of 18. Many parents are thrilled and even some youth are thrilled however, cigarette companies are losing out on a very profitable market group. Young adults often buy cigarettes at 18 years old because of the thrill of knowing that nothing and no one can stop them from buying it. How will cigarette companies respond to New York City's new law? Do you believe that this is a good decision or one that will only cause teenagers to want to consume and buy more cigarettes?
